The road that will link Europe with the United States

Trans Eurasian Belt Development
How about going from Europe to the United States by car? For lovers of driving it would be wonderful, although many of us would continue to take a flight to get to the other side of the pond, more than anything for comfort. Well, even if you see it crazy, this could be a reality in a few years, since an important businessman has presented a macro project that consists of the construction of a gigantic highway . Of course, do not think that the road would cross the Atlantic.

Do you want to know more details about this impressive project ? Well, be very attentive to what we tell you below!

A mega project

As we were telling you, a Russian businessman has presented a project that consists of building a highway that connects Europe with the United States. This is Vladimir Yakunin , president of Russian Railways, one of the three largest transport companies in the world. According to the newspaper "Siberian Times", the businessman has presented a mega project to create a trans-Siberian highway that connects London and New York. Of course, as we have told you before, the route would not go through the Atlantic Ocean, but would pass through Russia. In total, there would be 21,000 kilometers of Trans-Siberian highway.

Tour details

The plan, which has been presented at a meeting of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow, aims to unite their country with the state of Alaska, for which they would have to cross the Bering Sea strip that separates North America from Asia. In its 21,000 kilometers it would travel cities such as London, Moscow, Nome and Fairbanks (Alaska) or New York. The project, which has been named the Trans-Eurasian Belt Development (TEPR), would follow the route of the famous Trans-Siberian Railway.

Few data about the project

Unfortunately, no details have been released on what the stretch of road that runs through the sea would be like, nor have they offered information on how the project would develop, although the politician is clear that it must be based on new technologies . It is also not known which company would pay for the project, which, for now, has not been approved. In fact, no estimate has been given of what it could cost in economic terms, although we assume that it would be an astronomical figure, with many zeros to the right. Even so, it is estimated that this initial outlay would generate a lot of income in the future.

A road that would benefit different regions

Of course, what is clear is that it would benefit different regions, such as Nome, since here there are no routes that make it easier for the inhabitants to reach the state road system. In addition, the journey along this road could be really spectacular, being able to contemplate landscapes that would leave anyone with their mouths open. Of course, it would not be a trip suitable for children, unless you like irritating phrases like "Is it much?" or Have we arrived yet? ”. On the other hand, we suppose that in some sections it could be dangerous, such as the so called Atlantic Highway , which has been considered one of the most dangerous roads in the world. Opened in 1989 in Norway, this road connects the Eide and Averoy archipelago with the Romsdalshalvoya peninsula. What makes it dangerous is, above all, that it is very close to the level of the Atlantic Ocean, so it is not recommended to travel it when there are storms. Of course, it only has a length of 8 kilometers, nothing to do with what the possible road that connects London with New York is expected to have.

Do you think the project led by Vladimir Yakunin will come true?
